Police investigate robbery at Burnham-On-Sea amusement arcade

A group of youths stole cash from fruit machines at this seafront amusement arcade in Burnham-On-Sea on Monday evening (February 8th).

Police rushed to Sunspot Amusements on The Esplanade, as pictured, after several machines were smashed open by four youths to gain access to the coins inside.

Police spokeswoman Cath Foster confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police were called at at 6.05pm to the arcade after a staff member reported the youths were smashing the arcade’s machines.”

“Several machines were moved to steal handfuls of change and they ran away when the arcade’s alarms were activated.”

CCTV footage of the incident is now being studied by police, who have issued an appeal for information from anyone who saw the youths in the area.

“We are looking for four youths all aged in their 20s,” said the spokeswoman. “One was wearing a blue hoodie and another was dressed in a white jacket, red top and jeans.”
