Final rehearsals are underway at Burnham-On-Sea’s Excellent Entertainment Society as it prepares to hold its annual autumn show.

This year’s performance is Disney’s musical Beauty and the Beast, which opens in the Princess Theatre on Saturday 20th November at 7.30pm. A second show will be held on Sunday 21st November at 3pm.

The lead roles are played by Laaura Black (Belle), James Ballantyne (Beast), Sandra Hart (Mrs Potts), Dawn Gray (Gaston), Sarah Loveridge (Lumiere), Russell Awang (Maurice) and Sandy Ballantyne (Cogsworth).

The youngsters include Sophie or Casey in the role of Chip and Amelia in the role of Babette.

Dawn Gray, Chairperson Burnham Excellent Entertainment Society (BEES), told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ will be the first BEES show performed with a live orchestra, so as we enter our 16th year, it has been a challenge to learn something new for those of us ‘old timers’.”

“The show has also created a exciting time for our new and younger members, many of whom this will be their first experience of ‘treading the boards’.”

“So, if you love favourite songs such as ‘Be Our Guest’, ‘Tale As Old As Time’ and of course ‘Beauty and the Beast’, we hope to see you at the Princess on November 20th or 21st to enjoy our show.”

Tickets are on sale and can be obtained by calling the box office on 01278 792520.
