Motorcyclists raise £320 for Burnham hospital during fundraising trip

-

Over 40 motorcycling enthusiasts roared off from Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday morning (June 13th) for a 100 mile fundraising bike run.

Motorcycle enthusiast Phil Hayward organised the event in aid of the Friends of Burnham Hospital, with the convoy of bikes setting off from outside Burnham Medical Centre in Love Lane, as pictured here, and making their way to Lynmouth. They raised a total of £320.

Tony Deahl of the Friends of Burnham Hospital, pictured below with Mr Hayward, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Now that we have spent £310,000 on the refurbishment of the hospital, it is important that the Friends of Burnham Hospital start to increase funds towards future projects.”

“This gesture by Phil and his biking friends, in appreciation of the excellent treatment many had experienced at our hospital, is very much appreciated. The bike run was a fun and novel way of raising much needed funds.”

The convoy was waved off by staff at hospital on Sunday morning, as pictured above, as the bikers left on their 100 mile round journey in warm sunshine.
