Mean
thieves steal lifeboat man's bike while he's on training exercise
A
lifeboat crewman in Burnham-On-Sea had his bike stolen while he
was inside the RNLI station on a training session.
Crew
member Ian Tench - pictured on the far right at the start of a
fundraising bike ride in 2008 - had his racing bike pinched from
the forecourt of the Pier Street station last Wednesday (February
18th) while he was taking part in a training exercise.
Ian
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I'd only left the bike outside
for about 20 minutes before it was taken - it's unbelievable that
someone could do this."
The
racing bike was red and white and is branded Trek. It was stolen
between 9.30pm and 10pm.
The
theft was reported to Burnham Police, who have asked anyone with
information to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Lifeboats
spokesman Mike Lang added: "It's horrible that someone could
do this to a volunteer."
