bikes charity given free Highbridge home for their bikes
charity Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service has a new home
in Highbridge this week for its blood bikes.
in Sedgemoor has supplied the group with a free garage that is
currently unoccupied to store its bikes when they are unused.
new facilities are located in Highbridge, which the group sees
as an ideal location close to the M5 from which its volunteer
motorcyclists can hop on their bikes to deliver medical supplies
across the region.
Mike Belch, Vice Chairman of the Freewheelers EVS, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"This kind donation of a garage from Homes in Sedgemoor will
give us somewhere to store our spare bike, which is needed whenever
the other bikes go in for service or repair, as well as the insulated
boxes that we use to transport blood or frozen breast milk. It
helps us to keep our overheads low so we can spend the money that
we raise on the fuel, tyres and maintenance that our bikes need."
in Sedgemoor manages around 1,400 garage facilities and anyone
can apply to rent a council garage in West Huntspill, East Huntspill,
Highbridge and Bridgwater.
