'Impressed'
Britain In Bloom judges take tour of Highbridge

Two
judges were 'blooming impressed' when they made a tour of Highbridge
during their assessment of the town
for the Britain In Bloom competition on Monday (July 19th).
Judges
Tony Moore and John Bowden were given a guided tour of the town
after being welcomed by the town's MP, Tessa Munt, Mayor Michael
Clarke and County Councillor John Woodman, plus Highbridge In
Bloom committee members, as pictured above.
The
judges visited St John's School, Highbridge Children's Centre,
Morland Hall, Apex Park, Lakeside, the allotments, Walrow fishing
lakes, General Higgins House, the Community Centre, Jubilee Gardens
and finished with lunch at Southwell House.
Pam
Lyes, secretary of the group, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It
all went exceedingly well and we are quietly confident that we've
done well. We won't know, though, until the results are announced
in September."
"The
judges were particularly impressed with the work carried out by
the youngsters from Highbridge Dreamscheme, who have hung dozens
of colourful hanging baskets along Church Street and Market Street."
"They
really liked the new community garden at Morland Hall, and the
work put in by the school and Children's Centre."
Jason
Adams, who runs the Dreamscheme, added: "It was great to
meet the judges, who were very enthusiastic about what the children
have done. We were very happy to help make the town ready for
the judges."
Both
thanked Sedgemoor District Council, Burnham and Highbridge Town
Council and the bloom sponsors for their help and support.
