Brent Knoll’s annual summer fete will take place this Saturday (June 12th) with a big line-up of traditional music, games and stalls on offer.

Organisers are keeping their fingers crossed for good weather, with the event expected to attract crowds of visitors to Brent Knoll Green from 2pm.

John Page told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The School dancers will be there with their traditional country dancing. Also, Brent Knoll’s own group of male dancers, the Chalice Morris Men, will be with us again.”

“The fun sports for children – and maybe adults! – will be happening, including egg and spoon races and three-legged races.”

“A number of the stalls which appear at our monthly bazaars have asked to be in attendance at the fete, so you will still be able to enjoy a wide variety of choice.”

” Woodcarving, jewellery, preserves, honey, many cakes, quiches, records, CDs, bric-a-brac, books and cards will be enhanced by a number of our regulars including a bottle-stall, raffle, coconut shy, children’s games and a bike display.”

Visitors are being encouraged to dress up this year as any cartoon character. “If you or members of your family would like to come in a recognisable costume, either home-made or rented for the occasion, it will all add to the fun of the day,” added John.

This year’s event will be opened by Reverend Simon Lewis.
