In photos: Sun-soaked Brent Knoll Summer Fete attracts big turnout

An afternoon of hot summer weather attracted big crowds to Brent Knoll's annual summer fete on Saturday (June 12th)
.

The village's Reverend Simon Lewis officially opened the event with organiser John Page, as pictured above.

The crowds of spectators were treated a variety of traditional music, games and stalls plus entertainment.

John Page told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It was a fantastic afternoon - the School dancers were there with their traditional country dancing, also, Brent Knoll’s own group of male dancers, the Chalice Morris Men, were with us again."

"The fun sports attracted a good number of entrants for egg and spoon races and three-legged races."

A good turnout of stalls was on hand, selling woodcarving, jewellery, preserves, honey, cakes, music, bric-a-brac, books and cards.

And there was old-style entertainment too with a bottle-stall, raffle and coconut shy.

Visitors were invited to dress up this year as cartoon characters - and among the eye-catching costumes was Brent Knoll councillor Bob Filmer as Brutus!
