These were the scenes in Brent Knoll on Friday morning (February
5th) as fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea tackled a lorry blaze.
Two
fire crews were called out at 11.17am after a 17 tonne vehicle
was reported to be alight at Sanders Garden World garden centre
just off the A38.
Fire
spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Two appliances
from Burnham were sent to the lorry, which was carrying non-hazardous
cargo. It was on fire in the cab area."
"Firefighters
used one hose reel jet, one foam jet and two breathing apparatus
to put out the blaze and they left the duty of care with the owner,
who will oversee recovery of the vehicle."
He
added that the cause of the fire had been an electrical fault
within the engine compartment and added hat there was 100 per
cent fire damage to the cab and 10 per cent fire damage to the
remainder of the vehicle.
