Amusing vegetable designs were among the wide range of entries that went on show at Brent Knoll’s annual Flower Show on Saturday (August 21st).

The caterpillar entry pictured above, consisting of potatoes and beans, scooped first prize in one of the children’s categories.

Enthusiasts of all ages displayed vegetables, colourful blooms, cookery entries and photographs at the 64th annual show.

The event was held at the village hall and, although the number of entries was down, the organisers were still pleased with how it went.

Marion Vining, the show’s Chairman, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had 44 people taking part, which was down on last year, due to the event being held later than normal in August and the recent poor weather, but despite this, the overall quality of entries was excellent. A thank you goes to everyone who supported the show.”
