Burnham-On-Sea
hovercraft volunteer receives BT community award

A
life-saving Burnham-On-Sea charity has received a financial boost
from British Telecom this week.
Hovercraft
rescue charity BARB has been awarded £150 through BT's Community
Champions award scheme thanks to the voluntary work of crewmember
Eddie Fey, who works for the telecoms giant.
The
BT scheme enables its staff to apply for funding for local community
groups, charities and organisations where they work on a voluntary
basis.
Eddie, a BARB crewmember for over two years, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"We are grateful to BT for this support - the funding will
go towards the purchase of our new replacement hovercraft, costing
£60,000."
BARB
is one of hundreds of groups that applied for the latest round
of grants. BT Community Champions awards can be used to purchase
specific equipment or as a contribution towards a particular project.
