Three cars set alight in Mark as police appeal for information

Police are investigating why three cars were set alight in Mark, near Burnham-On-Sea, late on Thursday night (January 28th).

Burnham firefighters rushed to the Kingsway in Mark at 10.21pm and were shocked to find three vehicles well alight.

“The Incident Commander requested the attendance of a second appliance from Burnham-On-Sea and personnel used two hose reel jets and a carbon dioxide extinguisher to extinguish the vehicles, which are thought to have been set fire to deliberately,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Two of the vehicles were severely damaged by fire and one vehicle lightly damaged. Police have begun their investigation and are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact them via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
