Burnham-On-Sea councillor becomes latest victim of car vandals

-

A Burnham-On-Sea county councillor has become the latest victim of a spate of car vandalism in the town.

Cllr Peter Burridge-Clayton, pictured, had two wing mirrors stolen from vehicles parked outside his home in Highbridge Road on Thursday night (December 30th).

Other cars have been attacked in Worston Lane and Priestley Way during the past week, taking the total to almost a dozen vehicles. Burnham Police have appealed to any witnesses to come forward.

Peter told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Senseless vandalism like this is very annoying – I would urge anyone with information to contact the police.”

Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here how five cars in Worston Lane had been attacked on Boxing Day evening.

Inspector Roger Tolley from Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are investigating these incidents and would ask any witnesses to come forward. This kind of vandalism is incredibly annoying for the car owners and expensive to repair.”

Anyone with information should call 0845 456 7000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
