Burnham-On-Sea Carnival organisers appeal for more helpers

The organisers of the annual Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea winter carnival have this week issued a fresh appeal for more volunteers to come forward and help with marshalling.

Members of the event's committee (pictured) want extra helpers for the big event, which this year takes place on Monday November 8th.

Jamie Hawke, Vice Chairman of the Carnival Committee, told "We are in great need of volunteers for marshalling on the night. We need about 80 marshals to be able to run the event safely. Without people coming forward, we will really be struggling."

"We also need people to help us during the lead-up to Carnival. There are lots of things that need doing from the Saturday, right up to the night and afterwards for counting the collections. Any help would be gratefully appreciated."

Anyone wishing to help can contact either Jamie Hawke on 01278 781279 or 07812095706 or Jan Paul, secretary, on 01278 784607.
