begins for this year's Burnham and Highbridge Carnival Queen
The search is on for this year's Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea
Carnival Queen and Princesses.
from Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club have this week kicked off the annual
hunt to find
this year's contestants.
The competition is once again open to girls aged 16 or over for
the position of queen, and to youngsters aged 7-15 for the princesses.
contestants must live within six miles of Highbridge or Burnham
and be available on the evening of the Carnival, Monday 8th November.
The Carnival Queen and Princess Selection Evening will be held
on Saturday 31st July at the Princess Hall.
evening will start with a pre-contest briefing at 7.15pm and judging
will start at 8pm followed by an evening of entertainment hosted
by Russell Dyson with music provided by local DJ Paul Hale. Admission
will be £3 on the door.
The winner of the competition will become the Highbridge and Burnham
Carnival Queen accompanied by two Princesses.
The Carnival Queen will be asked to attend events throughout the
year, including the presentation of trophies to the winning Carnival
Clubs and the presentation of cheques to those charitable organisations
that assist the Carnival.
