Burnham-On-Sea choral group seeks new musical director

-

Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society is seeking a new musical director.

Due to ill health, the Society’s long-term Musical Director John Henshaw is stepping down after 15 years in the role and the Society is therefore searching for a replacement.

“The Society’s long-term Musical Director is unable to continue and the Society is indebted to him for his expertise over many years,” the group’s spokesman, Ken Henton, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The Society needs a new Musical Director. Should any reader be interested in the position or know of someone who might be interested would they please contact Bev Hearn on 01934 732041 as soon as possible,” he added.

“New members are also always given a warm welcome, especially tenors and basses.”

The 38 year-old society’s first performance was in December 1972, when the performers were known simply as ‘The Parish Choir.’ Mr Henshaw has been musical director of the group since 1995.

Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society recently performed a succesful concert in St John’s Church in Highbridge, as pictured.
