TV couple make surprise stay at Burnham-On-Sea guesthouse

-

A Burnham-On-Sea guesthouse has this week been the home for a TV couple who are appearing in Channel 4’s tea-time reality series Coach Trip.

Ray and Glenys Knight, pictured, spent several nights at Magnolia House Guesthouse in Manor Road after abandoning their camping holiday due to poor weather.

Guesthouse owners Alistair and Roz Hendry told Burnham-On-Sea.com they recognised the couple straight away when they knocked on their door.

Alistair said: “The door bell rang and Roz, who regularly watches the programme, answered it. She was actually stuck for words at first, then took the couple in and sorted out their accommodation. We chatted with them for some time.”

“They are really nice people and they told us it was only a fluke that they had got onto Coach Trip for the current fifth series. They explained that two other ladies on the coach had had to leave unexpectedly, so Ray and Glenys had got a phone call out of the blue inviting them to take part for a second time.”

“Our other guests here at Magnolia House have been buzzing about them all week!”

The couple came to Burnham-On-Sea after bad weather forced them to scrap their holiday under canvas. They left Burnham on Wednesday after enjoying several days in the town. Click here for more details about the TV show.
