We won’t be beaten by weather, vow Berrow footpath protesters

-

Heavy rain failed to stop a protest march in Berrow on Saturday morning (October 23rd) as villagers stepped up their calls for a new footpath to be introduced along Coast Road.

The protest, organised by Berrow’s Local Action Team, was the latest in a series of marches to be held this year to put pressure on the County Council to build a new footpath along the busy road.

But poor weather depleted the numbers and just over a dozen villagers donned umbrellas and waterproofs to take part.

Organiser Ken May, Chairman of Berrow’s Local Action Team, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are very grateful to those who turned out in what were very poor weather conditions. The march was successful in further raising the profile of our campaign to get a footpath introduced.”
