Hundreds of pounds was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday (September 24th) when residents across the Burnham-On-Sea area took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Burnham’s Mayor, Michael Clarke, joined Sedgemoor District Council Chairman Jane Moreton in attending an event at Apex Park in Highbridge.

And Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll collected more than £461 by offering customers free tea and coffee throughout the day in return for a donation to the charity, as pictured.

General Manager Peter Burks told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a great success. Lots of people from the area came along and helped us support this worthy cause.”

A further coffee morning will also be held in Berrow, next to St Mary’s Church, as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events. A steady flow of visitors made that event a success too.
