Counterfeit clothing seized in raid on Brean car boot sale

-

Burnham-On-Sea police and Trading Standards officers have seized thousands of pounds of counterfeit clothing in Brean this week.

Over 20 boxes of materials were taken away from a Brean car boot sale.

Somerset Trading Standards spokeswoman Jan Hookings confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We recovered over 20 boxes of clothes from various manufacturers that included trainers, watches, wallets and sunglasses.”

“If they had been the genuine products they would have had a very high value.”

She added: “We are in the process of doing an assessment on the street value and our investigation is ongoing.”

Police are also investigating the source of the clothing to see whether further items are being sold at other car boot sales and markets across the region.
