100 enjoy Dickens Christmas celebration in Brent Knoll

Over 100 people braved snow and ice to attend an evening of festive family entertainment in Brent Knoll's St Michael's Church.

The event - called 'A Dickens Of A Christmas' - featured traditional carols, songs, poems and readings along with a special shortened performance of the smash musical Oliver.

Margaret Smith, one of the organisers, told "Despite the bad weather, 100 adults and children enjoyed an evening of Dickens poems, readings, songs and a concert performance performed by Robbie Burns, Darren Crockett and Stephanie Cuttell accompanied by John Johnston on the piano. Delicious mulled wine and mince pies helped keep people warm."
