Colourful Divali celebrations at Highbridge Children's Centre

Staff, parents and children at Highbridge Children's Centre have been celebrating Divali over the past week.

The events have included dressing up in traditional costume, making samosas and watching a video of Bollywood dance.

Manager Julian Plested told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "This was a good opportunity for everyone to find out about a major religious ceremony which is celebrated by a billion people across the world, including in Britain."

"The families enjoyed the festivities and especially liked the chance to get involved in cooking and eating together."
