Results and photos from East Huntspill Flower Show

Dozens of colourful blooms went on show at the weekend when East Huntspill held its annual Flower Show.

Nearly 200 people filled the village hall to look at a wide range of exhibits - from roses to hanging baskets and vegetables to crafts.

"The Show Committee would like to thank all supporters, sponsors, raffle prizes and most of all those who helped 'set up' and 'take down' the show and clean up afterwards. A grand day was had by all," Show Secretary Kay Bennett told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The winners of the cups and trophies included: The Margaret Wall Perpetual Rose Bowl - Roses = Sara Puddy; P.M. Wall Ltd - best single cacti = Christine Coates; The Andy West Memorial Perpetual Cup for Dahlias = Brian Newton; The HJG Hobbs Memorial Perpetual Cup - Hanging basket = Margaret Wall; The Brian Newton Perpetual Cup - most points in flowers = Sara Puddy and The Nigel Dorothy Perpetual Cup - best exhibit in the onion classes = John Inder.

The J.D.Pope & Sons Perpetual Cup for most points in vegetable classes went to John Inder; B & B Marquee Perpetual Cup - Novelty Class = Martin Wall; "Mr Potato" award = highest potatoes grown in a bag (8lbs 10ozs!) = Jim Bennett; Crown Stores Perpetual Cup - most points in the fruit classes = Veronica Derham; The Withy Road Perpetual Cup - most points in the domestic classes = Margaret Wall.

The Jenny Salway Perpetual Cup for best exhibit in the domestic class was won by Margaret Wall. The Mildred Pudy Memorial Perpetual Cup - most points in the craft class = Theresa Bromham. The MA & FG Puddy Memorial Perpetual Cup - 'Top Tray' and Thompson and Morgan; Certificate and vouchers = John Inder; The Abbott & Frost Perpetual Cup - 'Top Vase' and Thompson and Morgan certificate and vouchers = won jointly by Sara Puddy and Kay Bennett.

Other winners were The E.H Cricket Club Perpetual Cup - Class 77 Floral Art = Andrea Moore; The Crown Inn Perpetual Cup - Class 78 Floral Art = Jane Moreton; E.H Garden Club Perpetual - class 79 - Floral Art = Mary Chalker; E.H. Show Perpetual Rose Bowl - class 80 - Floral Art = Mary Puddy; E.H. Show Perpetual 'petite' Rose Bowl - class 81 = Myra Cox; The Queenie Cox Memorial Perpetual Shield - most points in floral art = Andrea Moore.

The Veronica Derham Perpetual Cup - most points up to 7 years = Sam Davey; The Sam & Ann Cook Perpetual Cup - most points 7 to 11 years = Imogen Criddle; The Basonbridge Post Office stores Perpetual Cup - most points 12 to 16 years = Edward Bennett; The JR and KA Bennett Perpetual Cup - Best exhibit - Art 'open' class = Brian Hughes.

The The East Huntspill Art Club Perpetual Cup - to an Art Club member = Trevor Dinham; The Doreen Reddish Perpetual Cup - most points in Photography = Ruth Woolley; The D.J.Cox Perpetual 'Novice' Cup (most points to someone not exhibited at E.H Show before) = Gordon Lockyer; The East Huntspill Parish Council Perpetual Shield: most public votes for an exhibit = Jane Moreton (Class 78 Floral Art); The R.W.Fisher President's Perpetual Cup - most points in Show = Sara Puddy.
