Highbridge
bikers in special Easter fundraising drive
Dozens
of motorcyclists, some dressed in Easter costumes, took part in
a fundraising bike run from Highbridge to Minehead on Easter Day
(April 4th).
Somerset
Motorcycle Group oversaw the special event, which started from
Highbridge's Bristol Bridge Inn on the A38.
The
convoy of 25 bikers then wended their way through Bridgwater before
they headed out along the coast to Minehead.
The
event was held to raise money for Burnham-On-Sea rescue hovercraft
charity BARB towards the £60,000 cost of buying its new
craft.
"The
day went very well and attracted a good turnout of riders from
across the region and as far afield as Taunton and Bristol. Several
motorcyclists joined us during the route and we were warmly welcomed
into Minehead," said organiser Norman Templeman.
Another
bike run is scheduled for Sunday May 9th from Highbridge to Weymouth.
To sign up, call Norman on 07759 907514.
