In photos: live at the election count

These were the scenes at the Wells General Election count early today (Friday, May 7th) when reported live from the election count.

Votes were counted at Draycott Memorial Hall due to its central location in the Wells constituency.

The result of the battle between the six candidates was expected to be announced at around 5am, however a recount delayed the final announcement.

The Wells constituency has 81,292 people registered to vote and at the last general election in 2005, Mr Heathcoat-Amory won with a majority of 3,040 votes from the Lib Dems in second place.
