Cyclist rescued from water-filled ditch by Burnham fire crews

Fire crews rescued a man from a water-filled ditch near Brean on Sunday night (June 13th).

Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea, Weston and Bridgwater rushed to Brean Road in Lympsham at 11.05pm after the man had fallen off his bike into the water.

Fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The male casualty was rescued using dry suits and lines and left in the care of the paramedics."

"The pump from Burnham-On-Sea, along with the Special Rescue Unit and a Landrover from Bridgwater attended, assisted by the pump from Weston Super Mare."
