Cyclist rescued from water-filled ditch by Burnham fire crews

Fire crews rescued a man from a water-filled ditch near Brean on Sunday night (June 13th).

Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea, Weston and Bridgwater rushed to Brean Road in Lympsham at 11.05pm after the man had fallen off his bike into the water.

Fire spokesman Paul Slavin told "The male casualty was rescued using dry suits and lines and left in the care of the paramedics."

"The pump from Burnham-On-Sea, along with the Special Rescue Unit and a Landrover from Bridgwater attended, assisted by the pump from Weston Super Mare."
