Preparations underway for Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront fireworks

-

Work was underway on Saturday on constructing the scaffolding structure from which Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront fireworks display will be fired into the sky on Sunday night (November 7th).

Hundreds of dazzling fireworks will be fired from the temporary platform, which will be surrounded by sea water.

The 20 minute display, which starts at 7pm, will include several brand new fireworks never seen before in Burnham – as reported here.

Lee Harvey, from Skyburst, the company that is running the event on behalf of the Town Council, told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the display promises to be “breathtaking”.

The whole event is weather dependent and, with the threat of windy conditions a possibility, Burnham-On-Sea.com will have further updates during Sunday.

The hugely popular free event, which is often attended by thousands of spectators, is being held on the night before Burnham’s annual carnival.

After the fireworks on Sunday night, The Railway Inn in Burnham High Street will be holding a fundraising concert in which local group The Riverbrew will be playing to raise cash for Help For Heroes.

Landlord Danny Pearce, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We hope to raise a good sum for the charity while keeping the fireworks fun running into the evening.”
