Geography students at King Alfred School in Highbridge have been given free maps as part of the Ordnance Survey’s annual free maps scheme for eleven-year-olds.

Each of the Year 7 students has been given a map of the Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-On-Sea areas to take home.

“We hope that they will share these maps with their families, perhaps using them to find out more about the local area, or to go for a walk along one of the footpaths marked,” said Catherine Owen, Head of Geography.

The Ordnance Survey’s free maps scheme has been running for nine years and during that time it has given away over 6 million maps – more details are available here.
