Burnham’s Mayor welcomes visitors from German twin town

Dozens of visitors from Burnham’s German twin town were formally welcomed by the Mayor and Mayoress on Monday (July 26th).

Michael and Maria Clarke met the group of 37 people from Fritzlar at a ceremony held at the Town Council Chambers in Jaycroft Road.

The group will be visiting several groups in Burnham and Highbridge in the coming days and there will be a formal dinner at the Batch Country Hotel in Lympsham on Thursday.

The Fritzlar Twinning Society has been in existence for over 20 years and seeks to maintain and develop Burnham and Highbridge’s relationship with Fritzlar, which is a historic town in the German region of Hessen.
