Age is no boundary for new 'Generations Together' project

Armed with wheelbarrows, spades and seeds, this group of Highbridge residents has been busy planting a wildflower meadow.

The group were brought together by an 'intergenerational project' called 'The Company of Voices', run by Somerset County Council and the Children and Young People's Partnership.

The group have been volunteering at East Huntspill's Secret World and have also learnt new skills during a series of digital photography workshops.

"This is one of eight projects in Somerset that is being funded through a central government project called 'Generations Together'," a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

"The project brings together people of all ages, giving them a chance to try out new activities and share knowledge, experience and skills. The scheme aims to help break down the barriers between older and younger people and unite generations."
