set new sleepover world record
and beavers from Burnham-On-Sea were among 20,000 youngsters across
the UK who set a new Guinness World Record for the largest ever
sleepover on Saturday (June 19th).

in breaking the record for the biggest sleepover.
in Burnham, we had 17 Kingfisher Cubs and 30 Beavers sleeping
both outside in tents and inside the Scout headquarters,"
Beavers Leader Mandy Williams told Burnham-On-Sea.com. "It
was a fun event that was enjoyed by all."
500 groups across the UK snoozed their way through Saturday night,
while raising money for children's charities and giving thousands
of parents the night off!
'Giant Sleepover' was supported by the National Confederation
of Parent and Teacher Associations plus Girl Guiding UK, The Boys
and Girls Brigades, Sea Cadets, The Tennis Foundation and The
England and Wales Cricket Board.
Dinning, founder of The Giant Sleepover, added: "The kids
have had a great time this weekend and I think the parents have
quite enjoyed a night off too! What is great about The Giant Sleepover
is that the kids have so much fun while also learning crucial
social and behavioural skills and how they can play a part in
