cyclists in Burnham-On-Sea pedal for Haiti victims
group of 20 Burnham-On-Sea cyclists got on their bikes to raise
cash for Haiti's earthquake victims on Friday evening (January
year-old pensioner Arthur Gilbert was among the group of West
Country Triathletes taking part in the fundraising event at King
Alfred Sports Centre in Highbridge.
Mike Gardner told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We felt had to do
something to help the earthquake victims and organised a static
cycle ride over 46 miles."
cyclists rode around a 'virtual' island, changing gears as they
went up and down the hills. It was a good training session for
our triathlons later in the year and also raised over £85
for the earthquake fund at the same time."
