Burnham-On-Sea residents raise funds for Haiti earthquake victims

Fundraisers across the Burnham-On-Sea area are rallying round to raise money for those affected by last week’s devastating earthquake in Haiti.

Members of Burnham Rotary Club will be at Sanders Garden World on Thursday (January 21st) and Friday (January 22nd) collecting funds for the people affected by last week’s earthquake.

The group will be in the foyer of the Brent Knoll garden centre from 1pm until 4pm on each day.

A Coffee Morning to raise money for those affected by the disaster will also be held on Saturday 30th January from 10.30am to 12 noon at Brent Knoll Methodist Church.

The event is being organised by the Friends of Brent Knoll Churches Toddler Group and will include a cake stall, raffle, bring and buy, homemade cards and a guess the name of the teddy competition.

Meanwhile, Morrisons in Pier Street, Burnham is among several shops and businesses in the town collecting money for the Haiti disaster relief fund. Burnham-On-Sea.com will be following the fundraising activities in the coming days.
