Motorist air-lifted to hospital after accident near Burnham-On-Sea

Fire crews to remove the roof of a car trapped in a roadside ditch near Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday afternoon (May 23rd) to help a casualty inside.

Fire engines from Cheddar and Burnham, together with a Rescue Tender from Glastonbury, attended the accident at 12.01pm on the Cheddar to Wedmore road.

“The fire crews stabilised the vehicle, which was on its side within a ditch, and removed the roof to enable extrication of the casualty, who was then conveyed to hospital via air ambulance.”
