Fire crews tackle 'deliberate' blaze in Highbridge town centre

These were the scenes in Highbridge on Thursday evening (April 15th) when Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackled a deliberate blaze in the town.

One fire engine was sent to the rear of the Highbridge Hotel at 7.10pm to extinguish a fire where a shed and a large quantity of rubbish had been set alight deliberately.

An eyewitness told at the scene that three youngsters had been spotted in the area during the minutes before the fire started.

One hose reel jet was used to bring the blaze under control, as pictured here. Police are investigating and anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
