-

Proposals for the launch of a new commercial hovercraft service offering trips around Bridgwater Bay is being considered by local councillors.

Sedgemoor District Council has received an application from a firm called Hovabout Limited to launch the service on Burnham beach during the busy tourist season.

The proposals will be considered by town councillors at their monthly meeting on Monday (July 5th).

Hovabout’s Paul Barrett confirmed the proposals to Burnham-On-Sea.com on Thursday, saying he would like to launch the service later in the year if it wins approval.

Hovabout also plans to launch a similar service in Bristol, where it will offer tourists trips along city rivers.
