-

Well-known Burnham-On-Sea runner Jason Vickers is in training to take part in this year’s London Marathon.

Jason, who works at Burnham’s Tesco supermarket, is currently running 45 miles a week to get ready for the 26-mile race on Sunday April 25th.

The plucky runner, who has suffered from Crohn’s Disease for the past 17 years, currently runs five nights a week and says he has high hopes of beating his 2006 time of six hours and 19 minutes.

He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I’m really looking forward to the marathon and am hoping for a time of around four and a half hours, having finished the Burnham Half Marathon in a time of 1 hour 51 minutes last year.”

Over the course of the last four years, Jason has raised £3,071 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. This year, he will be raising funds for both the Multiple Sclerosis Society and RNLI.

Jason is seeking sponsorship and can be contacted on 01278 781841.
