Holiday
park's contest proves Burnham-On-Sea's got talent!

Nine
top local entertainers and musicians battled it out during a talent
contest at a Burnham-On-Sea holiday park on Saturday night (January
30th).
Lakeside
Holiday Park in Westfield Road held the final of its Parkstars
competition where the acts entertained a large audience and a
panel of judges for the chance to win the prize of four paid performances
at the park over the summer season.
Each
of the acts - Antoine Fleuriot, Rebecca Jennings, Emma Twigg,
Hayley Richards, The Three Of Us, Pete Langley, Stacey Holmes,
Sue Khosravi and The Wrinkly Rappers - had a ten minute slot live
on stage with a full professional production.
The
three top acts - The 3 of Us, Sue Khosravi and Antoine Flueriot
- each won development workshops and publicity material so their
performance can become a full 45-minute show and be taken to the
holiday industry's entertainment market.
James Panter, Entertainment Manager at Lakeside, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"Throughout the time we have been taking entries for the
contest I have been totally suprised at the diverse age range
of the acts wanting to take part."
"When
I began this I thought that we would have a lot of late teenage
age people or students from performing arts courses, but this
has not been the case and nearly three quarters of the finalists
are aged 30+ with some nearly double that."
"They
all have entertaining qualities and the grand final was a fantastic
showcase of talent coming together in one place and, regardless
of winning, every act had their moment on stage with full sound
and lighting and in front of a live audience."
A
big audience turned out to watch the event, which also raised
money for Taunton-based charity St Margaret's Hospice.
