Election latest: Lib Dems Deputy Leader set to visit Burnham today

Vince Cable, the deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats and its treasury spokesman, will visit Burnham-On-Sea today (Monday, April 19th) during another busy day on the local election campaign trail.

The MP will be giving his support to local parliamentary candidate Tessa Munt during a visit to the Oaktree speedway arena from 11.30am to 12.15pm. Members of the public will also be able to attend.

Meanwhile, MP David Heathcoat-Amory will also be in Burnham this afternoon. The Conservative candidate will hold an open meeting for local business people in the Reed Arms on The Esplanade at 1pm.

“He is keen to invite local business people to join him and discuss local issues affecting business in the town,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Other candidates standing in May’s General Election are Labour’s Andy Merryfield, UKIP’s Jake Baynes, the British National Party’s Richard Boyce and the Green Party’s Chris Briton.
