Burnham-On-Sea athlete selected for Great Britain team

A Burnham-On-Sea athlete has won a place on Great Britain's team to compete in this autumn's World Duathlon Championships.

Martin Rogers, who works at Burnham Swim and Sports Academy, has been selected to represent the country at the event in Edinburgh this September.

He told "I competed in the Cambridge qualifiers last week in my age group and was delighted to come away with a place on the Great Britain team."

"It's the first time I have tried to get onto the team and it will be an honour. I'm really looking forward to it, and have lots of training to do before then."

The duathlon comprises a 10km run, a 40km bike ride and a further 5km run.
