Over 1,000 raised for charity at Brean’s annual Memory Walk

-

Dozens of supporters of The Alzheimer’s Society pulled on their walking boots to take part in an annual sponsored walk in Brean on Sunday afternoon (19th September).

Almost 50 people took part in the Memory Walk, which started from Brean Leisure Park and raised more than £1,000.

A giant Sooty launched the walks, which included a choice of walks to suit all abilities.

They included a wheelchair-friendly half mile stroll within the grounds of the leisure park, and a seven mile trek along the beach to Brean Cove, then along Brean Down to the end of the fort and back.

“We had a good turnout and thank everyone for their support,” organiser Mike Barsby told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Once all the money has been counted, we hope to have raised more than £1,000 for The Alzheimer’s Society.”
