mental health support group launches in Burnham-On-Sea
A new peer support group for individuals who are experiencing
mental health issues has been launched in Burnham-On-Sea this
Called the The Way4ward Club, the group has been set up by a
group of local co-ordinators with the support of Rethink, a national
mental health membership charity.
individuals will be referred to the group, based at Burnham's
BAY Centre in Cassis Close, via Rethink and the Community Mental
Health Team as part of their recovery plan.
Ultimately, the aim is to help the individuals become free from
isolation and prevent relapse. The coordinators have worked hard
to fulfil their aims of having a community-based group with a
full range of opportunities and activities.
Group volunteer Tracey Ridgeway told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The
group will also help recognition of 'The Time To Change' campaign
which aims to end discrimination faced by people with mental health
