New off-licence to open in Burnham next door to former Threshers

The manager of Burnham-On-Sea's former Threshers off-licence is to launch a new shop selling alcohol in a vacant premises next door.

EW Heath's Opticians in College Street shut its doors to the public last year and is now being transformed into a new off-licence by Mark Brooks.

Work is underway at the premises to introduce new shelving and other point of sale furniture ahead of a grand opening over the next few weeks.

Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here Mr Brooks' plans for a new off licence last December at the time that Threshers closed for the final time.

Meanwhile, a new mini-mart selling alcohol is due to open very shortly in Abingdon Street at the southern end of the town.
