Police have arrested two men in Burnham-On-Sea following a theft at a shop in the town.

Two men were held by officers in Oxford Street at 6.45pm on Thursday (November 18th), as pictured here, following the theft of alcohol from a nearby off-licence.

Police spokesman Martin Dunscombe told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police arrested two men, aged 40 and 20, on suspicion of theft from Brooks and Son off-licence in College Street.”

A brief struggle took place at the shop when staff tried to prevent the pair leaving with several bottles taken from shelves. No-one was injured.

Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident in College Street to get in touch on 0845 456 7000.
