Inspector Roger Tolley told on Saturday: "We would urge people to be extra vigilant and check that their doors and windows are locked."

He added: "We are stepping up patrols in the area as our investigations continue."

Anyone with information that could help police enquiries should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
