£300,000 extension of Burnham-On-Sea pool takes shape

-

Work to create a £300,000 expansion of Burnham-On-Sea’s swimming pool stepped closer to completion this week.

The steel structure of the new building at the front of Burnham Swim and Sports Academy in Berrow Road swung into place, as pictured, as the new pool and two-storey fitness complex started to take shape.

Owners Mark and Sara Cox-Conklin, said they are delighted with how the work is moving forward.

Mark, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Phase one of the project is progressing well and is due to be completed by Christmas and we are on track to have a big opening in January.”

He added: “The first phase will deliver new fitness and cardio studios plus extra changing rooms. The second phase will see a new 15 x 30ft therapy pool introduced with water heated to 90 degrees.”

Work on creating the building’s foundations was completed in November, and, pictured top, the steel structure has moved into position this week
