Newly-formed Burnham rap group’s delight at festival invite

-

Jay, Keron and ‘Junior’ only formed their rap band ‘Typical Grafters’ earlier this year and have been invited to the three-day Buckfest 2010 music event this weekend.

The trio of prospective music college students were having problems finding a suitable practice venue until the recent Highbridge Community radio station helped them. They played live on air and an offer of a practice venue came forward.

They have now gone on to better things and have been given a booking at the Buckfest 2010 Festival near Frome.

The event regularly draws crowds of 6,000 people and attracts seasoned performers such as Antigua Joe and Stomping Dave Allen.

Typical Grafters were invited onto the bill by singer and songwriter Ben Pang’s management company.

Ben, who is also performing at the event, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I look forward to seeing these young lads in future years enjoying the same sort of success as myself.”

“My management and recording company, Mad Monk Records, have always supported young acts – after all, they are the future.”
