This was the scene on Burnham-On-Sea’s Esplanade on Friday afternoon (August 6th) after emergency services were called to help an elderly man involved in an accident.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the seafront at 4.10pm after the pensioner lost control of his mobility scooter outside Sunspot Amusements.

An eyewitness told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The man lost his balance and his scooter collided into the wall, sending him flying onto the tarmac.”

“The beach lifeguards were close by and helped him before the emergency services arrived. He suffered head injuries and was naturally quite shaken up.”
