RAF Sea King helicopter drops in on Burnham-On-Sea

A huge RAF Sea King helicopter landed in Burnham-On-Sea on Wednesday evening (March 17th) when its crew took part in a local rescue exercise.

The 62ft long helicopter landed at the BASC ground where it was welcomed by a group of Burnham Scouts and members of Burnham Coastguards, RNLI and fire service.

"We always attract a lot of attention wherever we go," pilot Squadron Leader Olly Padbury told

"It's great as we want as many people as possible to learn about the work we do and the service we provide."

Earlier, the helicopter took part in a winch exercise with members of Burnham's lifeboat crew in the Bristol Channel.
