Police appeal for witnesses after Burnham seafront crash

-

Debris was sent flying after the driver of a Honda Civic lost control at 8pm.

It slammed through three metal bollards on the North Esplanade before ending up wedged between two lighting columns.

Two ambulances rushed to the scene but, incredibly, no-one in the car was seriously hurt. The crash occurred next to a pedestrian crossing.

Police spokesman Martin Dunscombe told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Three people were in the car, one suffered facial injuries and another hurt a leg, but the injuries were not serious.”

Officers told Burnham-On-Sea.com that anyone who witnessed the crash should call police on 0845 456 7000.
